"Loving Care: Short Hacks for Dementia Caregivers" is a much-needed book for people who do not have the time or energy to decipher scientific lingo; or simply do not need another person telling them, "It will be okay if you just follow these rules".

As someone with a PhD, I understand the value of science and clinical information, but I also recognize that information is only helpful if people can use it. A person in the middle of a 3 a.m. caregiving crisis may not need another explanation if dementia. Sometimes, they need something practical; something that says, "Here is what worked for me. Try this".

What struck me most about Lisa's book is how much caregiving happens in the details; the small, everyday problems that can become overwhelming when you are dealing with them day after day. She has taken those experiences and turned them into practical solutions that another caregiver can consider for their own situation.

Lisa doesn't position herself as someone with all the answers. She shares what she has learned, what has worked for her mother, and what has made their lives a little easier. There is something incredibly valuable about that kind of honesty.

Caregiving is hard. It's challenging, exhausting, and there are no days off.

Sometimes, the thing that gets you through isn't a major breakthrough. It's a small idea that makes tomorrow a little more manageable.

Lisa is not selling perfection. She is sharing survival.
